The KACC 83074BP strain was collected in May 1990 in the vicinity of Mount Chiaksan, Socho-myeon, Wonju, Gangwon-do, South Korea, and identified as Trametes trogii. T. trogii strains belong to the Polyporaceae family and are distributed worldwide. Known as a white rot fungus species, T. trogii is recognized for its ability to decompose lignin and various pollutants, leading to numerous studies on bioremediation of contaminated soil and water using T. trogii strains. The KACC 83074BP strain exhibited activity in oxidizing the surface of low-density polyethylene (LDPE) films and weakening their mechanical properties.
